Ladies Night Out Pool Party - August, 2012

The monthly Ladies Night Out was a pool party held in the screen room next to the pool.  Although swimming was optional, everyone came in their swim suits just in case.  Good food, good fun and good company was had by all.

Next month Ladies Night Out will be a Nifty Fifties party.

Memorial Day Service ~ May, 2012

This year's service was almost a "washout" according to Bud LaPlante, Presidents of CCC's Veterans Association.  "I really thought we were going to have to cancel this event, but the rain seemed to hold out.".  The ceremony was shorten a bit but with over 100 people in attendance, everyone had a nice time.  Here our veterans are preparing to fold our American Flag.  What a nice touch with everything that is going on today.

Leesburg Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing ~ April, 2012

The day was absolutely beautiful for this year's golf tournament for the Leesburg Chamber of Commerce.  There were 92 participants playing in the tournament and business members set up sponsor tents on ten different holes.  Plaza Cadillac donated a car for a Hole In One contest on #17; Comcast was the major tournament sponsor.  At the Beyers Funeral Home tent are residents Ron Gauthier, Richard Servi, Rick Polakowski and David Deprospero (left to right).  Now the big question is who are those two strangers creatures behind the guys?  Don't know but the men didn't seem to mind!  Fun was had by all.

Spring Concert ~ March, 2012

This year's concert took on a different look.  Under the direction of Stephen Walgamot, the chorus decided to bring a little American Pride into their performance.  Don Sprout, resident and verteran, proudly displays the American Flag as he walks up the main aisle of our Magnolia Room.

Vets Hot Dog Night ~ March, 2012

CCC Veteran's Association hold a Hot Dog Night twice a year.  This is their one and only fund raiser and now is a tradtion here at Continental.  Thanks to Dick Zettlemoyer, and his friends, for standing behind those hot grills getting those hot dogs just right.  Over 300 tickets were sold and the Vets did very well in raising funds.  This year's 50/50 raffle was won by Fran Hurley.  Thank you everyone who attended and who volunteered.

Red Hat Ladies Luncheon ~ March, 2012

Every year our Red Hat Ladies get together for a "good bye" luncheon prior to all the "snowbirds" leave.  This year the ladies had their luncheon in our dining room.  All decked out in their purple and red, the ladies always have a great time.  As you can see, the girls are all involved in watching a special skit which was performed by some of their friends. Look how serious they all are.  Umm, what is going on?  Well you will just have to give one of the girls a buzz or better yet, join one of the groups.  Here at Continental we have three different Red Hat Clubs.

Arts & Crafts Spring Bazaar ~ March, 2012

As always our ladies who belong to our Arts & Crafts Club held another great Spring Bazaar.  As you can see, there were many home-made crafts available for everyones taste.  During the year this women's club holds many different types of fund raising events, but by far the homemade items is the most popular.  According the Joan Civil, this year's committee person, the turn out was very good and the vendors did very well.  How much money did the club raise?  Well that is a secret that one will find out at their next monthly luncheon.

Pro Am ~ February, 2012

CCC's Golf Pro, Steve Wresh, hands over a check to Jason Millard, this year's Pro Golf winner.  The total prize money amounted to over $27,000.  According to chair person Joe Tomasello, there were over 130 Pros on our course that Saturday.  Spectators were also watching and learning new techniques.  After a very busy weekend, the tournament managed to raise over $6,500 for the "Sumter Country Relay for Life", a division of the Cancer Society here in Sumter County.  A big thank you must be given to all our volunteers and all the local businesses who helped in this very important cause.

Disney Cruise ~ February, 2012

A group of 45 people went on a Disney Cruise and did they have a great time.  Here the group is dressed in their favorite pirate outfits in front of "Animators Palate" one of three Disney restaurants on board the Disney Magic.  After dinner everyone went up to the pool deck for a spectacular fireworks display which lasted at least 30 minutes.  Also as good as the display at Magic Kingdom.  Like so many of the group said, "...this was one of the best cruises I have ever been on.  When are we going again?"  Who knows what 2013 will hold for this group of fun loving people.
