Arts & Crafts Building
CACCÂ (Continental Arts and Crafts Club) was founded in 1983 by a group of residents to encourage arts & crafts in Continental Country Club and the surrounding communities. Our main fund raiser is our annual Crafts Bazaar which is held in the Spring and/or Fall each year. Any monies raised by this event is donated to not for profit organizations within CCC and the community at large.
We offer ceramic, stained glass & fused glass instruction/sessions. There are three kilns for ceramics and glass fusing. Ceramic crafters must purchase their own green ware/bisque. We have a large supply of donated paints & brushes that may used free of charge. Stained glass crafters can make their first small sun catcher at no cost as we have donated glass and other supplies needed for this craft. Glass fusing crafters pay per project as fusible glass is not available locally and has to be purchased on-line. These proceeds are used to purchase more fusible glass & other supplies.
Our Tuesday Open Crafts are very popular. A group of people are knitting and crocheting each Tuesday morning. In addition, each week we offer instruction in another craft—from jewelry making, origami box folding, mosaic stepping stones and trays & card making–just to mention a few. There is a small material charge for most of these classes.
In Winter, the Ceramics Building is open:
Monday from 9AM – Noon for Ceramics & Glass Fusing
Wednesday from 9 AM – Noon for Ceramics
Wednesday 1PM – ? For Glass Fusing
Thursday Evening 6 – 8 PM Ceramics
Friday 9AM – ? For Stained Glass
The Summer Building Schedule will be posted in May.
We have monthly Luncheon/Meetings on the last Tuesday of each month in the CCC Dining Room.
Each month we have a guest Speaker/Demonstrator showing us their craft or speaking about a general subject of interest to all.
You must be a member of CACC to participate in any craft. Our dues are $10.00 a year. Anyone interested in ceramics or glass fusing must also pay a $10.00 Lifetime Firing Fee.
